About the Program

The MS in Epidemiology is a degree program for students who want to gain additional theoretical and applied knowledge as well as the skills and credentials to enhance or advance their career. This program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in epidemiology and basic skills for analyzing epidemiological data. Specifically, there is an emphasis on developing answerable clinical and research questions, testable hypotheses, and sound study design for research projects that range from clinical trials to global population health. This degree program is designed for highly motivated professionals or recent college graduates working in academia, clinics, healthcare companies, federal agencies, health departments, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, or other healthcare settings. Faculty in the Division of Epidemiology utilize a team-based approach to teaching, such as offering guest lectures in courses offered by other areas.

The Capstone course will be the culminating experience for students enrolled in the MS in Epidemiology. It will be feasible for students to complete the Capstone course in their local areas, which is important for students who live outside the Augusta metropolitan area.
