The Master of Science degree with a Major in Biostatistics provides an intensive exposure to the wide range of ideas, methodologies, and techniques needed to perform as a statistician who designs data collection from experiments, observational studies, and clinical trials and analyzes and reports these data, extracting information stored in various forms. The application focus is on medicine, dentistry, nursing, allied health science, laboratory science, and other biological disciplines.
In training students to support collaborative research in the biomedical sciences, the Master of Science program builds on, and contributes to, the Medical College of Georgia's (MCG) growing reputation as a premier health sciences university. Its focus on statistics applied to health professions distinguishes it from most graduate statistics programs and prepares its graduates for rewarding careers in this increasingly important field.
"The MS in biostatistics program at Augusta University trains students with diverse
backgrounds for study design, data analysis, and statistical reporting. We prepare
our MS biostatistics students to work as statisticians in different industries, including
pharmaceuticals, public health organizations, government entities, and agriculture!"

of our Master’s students work closely with their advisors in their projects! We look
forward to welcoming you to our growing MS program in Biostatistics!"
Jie Chen, PhD
“I’ve always loved math and science and this was the perfect degree to bring the two
topics together. I never thought I would be a Biostatistician, but I’ve learned how
fun it is through my internship and will definitely pursue it after graduation.”
