The PEC functions as the governing body for the Professional Education Unit at Augusta University. Professional education programs are housed in three colleges across the University. The Dean of the College of Education is the designated head of the Unit and has the responsibility and authority to provide direction and leadership to the PEC.
Charge: Ensure the professional education programs at Augusta University are quality programs that comply with professional standards, including those of specialty professional organizations, accrediting agencies, Georgia certification standards, and the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
