EMERGENCY MEDICINE CLERKSHIP
During the four week span, we introduce each student to the specialty of Emergency Medicine (EM), covering the principals of beneficial for physicians entering any specialty.
FAMILY AND COMMUNITY MEDICINE CLERKSHIP
The six-week clerkship provides students with faculty-supervised exposure to the evaluation & management of patients in ambulatory settings of family and community medicine with undifferentiated health needs & problems.
MEDICINE CLERKSHIP
The next 8 weeks will form the cornerstone for much of your medical career, regardless of what specialty you ultimately choose. The emphasis of this clerkship is on acquisition of knowledge, skills, attitudes & behaviors that form the core of internal medicine & are essential for the education of all physicians.
NEUROLOGY CLERKSHIP
In many hospitals, neurology is the most consulted specialty. This is not only the result of the frequency of neurological disorders but also the discomfort many physicians feel when dealing with disorders of the nervous system. The complexity of the nervous system is less overwhelming if approached in a logical sequence.
OB/GYN CLERKSHIP
From delivering babies to ambulatory primary care, from radical cancer surgery to considerations of the human genome, OBGYN provides a wide range of practice options while caring for women across their lifespan.
PEDIATRIC CLERKSHIP
6 week rotation consisting of pediatric inpatient and ambulatory rotations either on campus or within the community that will expose students to working with children and learning more about their unique needs.
PSYCHIATRIC CLERKSHIP
For the next 3 weeks, you will learn to evaluate and treat mental illness and psychiatric manifestations of other medical disorders. From the publication of DSM 5 to the advances in psychiatric genetics, neurostimulation & pharmacological treatment & the understanding of neurobiological underpinnings of psychotherapy.
SURGERY CLERKSHIP
Surgery is a 6 week rotation consisting of two, three week rotations – one general surgery and one subspecialty or two general surgery rotations.
AHEC

A partnership coordinated by Augusta University, the Georgia Statewide AHEC Network is a complex, multi-disciplinary effort which responds to the problems of health professionals supply and distribution in rural & underserved areas of the state.
