Thank you for your interest in our Nuclear Medicine Technology program. We offer a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences, with a concentration in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
The Nuclear Medicine Technology B.S.R.S. degree program is a 2+2 program. Freshmen and sophomore courses are completed at the college of choice, after which the applicant applies to the Augusta University Nuclear Medicine Technology program for completion of the professional NMT component during the junior and senior years. This program is sequenced in five consecutive semesters after completion of prerequisite coursework.
Minimum math/science AND overall GPA to be considered for the program is 2.8
Application deadline is May 1.
The NMT Bridge programs are designed for professionals with a current CNMT or ARRT(N) certification or military nuclear medicine training who seek to enhance their education from an associate to bachelor's degree level. After completing required core pre-requisite coursework, the qualifying individual will be given 30 credit hours toward the B.S.R.S. degree. Course work contains advanced education and clinical experience in PET, CT, nuclear cardiology, health care management, and medical research. A flexible format allows students to continue working with limited travel requirements to campus. The Bridge Programs are completed in three to five semesters depending on previous NMT professional coursework.
NOTE: All bridge program students must meet the Georgia Board of Regents requirements for 60 credit hours of general education prerequisites as described on the prospective student prerequisite page
Prerequisites for the Bridge Program

PLEASE NOTE:
All undergraduate transfer students, regardless of major, with less than 60 hours of transfer credit by the start of the program will be required to take WELL 1000: Wellness and two activity courses. If a transfer student believes she/he has taken comparable coursework elsewhere and transfer credit is not awarded, the applicant may petition the Chair of the Department of Kinesiology to review and award potential credit.
All undergraduate transfer students, regardless of major, with more than 60 hours of transfer credit are exempt from this requirement.
Your application will be reviewed by Nuclear Medicine Technology faculty after all required materials have been received by the Admissions Office. Early receipt and completion of your application is important. We recommend you begin the application process in early fall for the following August program start date.
If your application demonstrates possible potential for success in the NMT program, you will be contacted by mail to schedule an interview. Interviews begin for qualified applicants around February of each year. The class is usually fully accepted by May 1. Meeting minimum application criteria does not guarantee admission to the NMT program.
