Recruiting, retaining, and graduating black male college students.
The mentoring program provides students with the opportunity to build a rapport with peers, professional staff, and community leaders who will serve as their mentors.
Students will participate in campus activities and outside events to create a sense of community and relationship within the AAMI program.
Mentors serve as guides to the intricacies of campus resources, facilities, and involvement. Various leadership forums and trainings will be held and facilitated by the mentors to develop the students as leaders.

Mentoring, at its core, guarantees our students that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter. Research confirms that quality mentoring relationships have powerful positive effects on students in a variety of personal, academic, and professional situations.
