Welcome to Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Augusta University!

We are committed to excellence in research and teaching, with the common goal of discovery and dissemination of knowledge that can be applied to the treatment and prevention of disease.

The department is known for its multidisciplinary collaborations, with both basic and clinical investigators using cutting-edge technologies to investigate normal and disease states at the molecular level. Students are important contributors to laboratory research, where they are trained to be competitive for educational and research positions in diverse academic and industrial environments. Our faculties are supported by major funding agencies, and the insight gained by their work has been disseminated in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
