Freshman Convocation, President's Picnic and Freshman 1101 Registration

We are looking forward to seeing you for Freshman Convocation on Tuesday, August 15th, the day before classes begin. This is Augusta University’s tradition of welcoming you to our campus and sharing our university with you!
Convocation is the ceremonial beginning of your college experience and serves as the bookend to Graduation. On this day you can interact with faculty, staff and other students in a way that is both fun and informative as you learn about COLLEGIALITY, an important AU value and the theme for your class of 2021.
As a direct result of the suggestions made by students from the Class of 2020, (sophomores) the Convocation Day is organized to maximize student participation, minimize “lectures” and allow time at the end of the day to get ready for class (buy books, find classes, etc.). Take this opportunity to ask lots of questions – today is YOUR day! As a note: Unlike Summer Orientations, family members will not be allowed to attend this event - this is the first official day of college and it is all about students.
DRESS CODE: Casual comfortable, not jeans, but not formal attire either. An example would be khakis and Polo shirt for men or dress, skirt/slacks for women. Most of the activities will be indoors and it is likely to be a little chilly with air conditioning, so dress comfortably. Please wear comfortable or flat shoes for walking on stairs and uneven surfaces.
