Bio

Dr. Trinanjan Datta is a Professor of Physics in The Department of Physis and Biophysics at Augusta University. He obtained his PhD from Purdue University (2007) in theoretical condensed matter physics. His research interests include theoretical and computational studies of magnetic systems. As a theoretical condensed matter physicist he uses theoretical and computational tools to investigate magnetic properties of magnetic models and compounds. He investigates spectroscopic (RIXS, Raman, INS, and transport) properties of magnon, multi-magnon, and topological magnon excitations in quantum magnets. He also has research interest on classical Monte Carlo simulation of non-equilibrium behavior in magnetic systems.
