The Department of Family Medicine in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University
is starting a non-ACGME accredited Primary Care Rural Medicine (PCRM) Fellowship July
1, 2022.
The Fellowship will focus on building specialized skills needed to successfully practice
in rural communities including:
navigating unique rural community challenges
recognizing opportunities for community advocacy
honing clinical skills
The PCRM Fellow will build a unique skillset including specialized clinical skills
(use of ultrasound, advanced dermatology, sports medicine, etc.) as well as behavioral
and community health education specific to the areas being served. PLUS- an opportunity to learn at the Robert Gordon and Aberdeen Universities in Scotland! As part of this fellowship you will participate in a research project
through which you will travel to Scotland for a 4-week rotation.
PCRH Fellows receive many benefits including:

Clinical experience in underserved community free clinic
Continuity clinical experience in a rural hospital
Function as a faculty attending in the MCG/AU FM Clinic
MCG Faculty Appointment
Experience with the local Health Department
Paid travel to conferences, with presentations
Memberships to GAFP and AAFP
